Inviting Tenants to the Leaseora Platform
After setting up your properties, the next step is to invite your tenants to join Leaseora. This guide will walk you through the process of inviting tenants and helping them get started with the platform.
Before inviting tenants, make sure you have their correct email addresses and that your property and unit details are properly set up in the system.
Step 1: Navigate to the Tenants Section
From your Leaseora dashboard, click on "Tenants" in the main navigation menu. This will take you to your tenants overview page.

Step 2: Add a New Tenant
Click the "Add Tenant" button in the top right corner of the tenants page. This will open the tenant invitation form.
Step 3: Enter Tenant Information
Fill out the basic tenant details in the form:
- First Name: Enter the tenant's first name
- Last Name: Enter the tenant's last name
- Email Address: Enter the tenant's email address (this will be used to send the invitation)
- Phone Number: Enter the tenant's phone number (optional)
- Property: Select the property where the tenant will reside
- Unit: Select the specific unit the tenant will occupy (if applicable)
Step 4: Set Lease Details (Optional)
You can pre-fill lease details for the tenant:
- Lease Start Date: The date when the lease begins
- Lease End Date: The date when the lease expires
- Monthly Rent: The amount of rent due each month
- Security Deposit: The amount of the security deposit
- Rent Due Day: The day of the month when rent is due
You can skip the lease details at this stage if you prefer to set them up later or if you want to create a formal lease through the platform after the tenant accepts the invitation.
Step 5: Customize the Invitation Message
Personalize the invitation email that will be sent to your tenant:
- The default template includes an introduction to Leaseora and instructions for getting started
- You can add a personal message to make the invitation more welcoming
- Preview the email to see exactly what your tenant will receive
Step 6: Send the Invitation
Once you've entered all the necessary information and customized the message, click the "Send Invitation" button. The system will send an email invitation to your tenant.
Step 7: Monitor Invitation Status
After sending the invitation, you can monitor its status:
- The tenant's status will show as "Invited" until they accept the invitation
- You can see when the invitation was sent and whether it has been opened
- If needed, you can resend the invitation or cancel it
Step 8: Tenant Acceptance Process
When your tenant receives the invitation email, they will:
- Click the "Accept Invitation" button in the email
- Create their Leaseora account by setting up a password
- Complete their profile with additional personal information
- Review and accept any lease terms you've included (if applicable)
- Set up their payment method for rent payments (if you've configured payment settings)
Step 9: Tenant Onboarding
Once a tenant has accepted the invitation and created their account, you can help them get started:
- Send them a welcome message through the Leaseora messaging system
- Share important property information and documents
- Guide them through setting up rent payments
- Show them how to submit maintenance requests
Congratulations! You've successfully invited your tenants to Leaseora. The next step is to configure payment settings to enable online rent collection.

Frequently Asked Questions
If your tenant doesn't receive the invitation, first check that you entered their email address correctly. You can resend the invitation from the Tenants page. If they still don't receive it, ask them to check their spam or junk folder. As a last resort, you can delete the invitation and create a new one.
Yes, you can invite multiple tenants for the same unit, such as roommates or family members. Each tenant will have their own account and can access the property information, but you can designate a primary tenant for rent payments if desired.
While Leaseora provides many benefits for tenants, some may prefer traditional methods of communication and payment. You can still use Leaseora to manage your properties and record rent payments manually. However, we recommend explaining the benefits to your tenants, such as easy maintenance requests, automatic rent reminders, and secure online payments.
