Password Security

Your password is the first line of defense for your Leaseora account. Creating and maintaining a strong password is essential for keeping your account secure.

Creating a Strong Password

A strong password should:

  • Be at least 12 characters long
  • Include a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters
  • Contain numbers and special characters
  • Not include easily guessable information (like your name or birthdate)
  • Not be used for multiple accounts

Changing Your Password

To change your password:

  1. Go to your Account Settings
  2. Select the "Security" tab
  3. Click on "Change Password"
  4. Enter your current password and your new password
  5. Click "Save Changes"

We recommend changing your password every 3-6 months for optimal security.

Two-Factor Authentication

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your account by requiring a second form of verification beyond your password.

Setting Up 2FA

Leaseora offers several 2FA methods:

  • Authenticator App - Use apps like Google Authenticator or Authy to generate time-based codes
  • SMS Verification - Receive a code via text message
  • Email Verification - Receive a code via email

To enable 2FA:

  1. Go to Account Settings > Security
  2. Click "Enable Two-Factor Authentication"
  3. Choose your preferred method
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete setup

Once enabled, you'll be required to provide the second factor when logging in from a new device or after a certain period.

Monitoring Account Activity

Regularly monitoring your account activity can help you detect unauthorized access and potential security breaches.

Viewing Login History

To view your login history:

  1. Go to Account Settings > Security
  2. Click on "Login Activity"

This page shows recent logins with details like:

  • Date and time
  • Device type
  • Browser
  • IP address
  • Location (approximate)

If you notice any suspicious activity, you should immediately:

  1. Change your password
  2. Enable 2FA (if not already enabled)
  3. Contact Leaseora support

Data Protection

Protecting your data is a shared responsibility between you and Leaseora. While we implement robust security measures on our end, there are steps you can take to enhance data protection.

Managing Personal Information

Regularly review and update your personal information:

  1. Go to Account Settings > Profile
  2. Review your contact information, address, and other details
  3. Remove any unnecessary information

Document Security

For sensitive documents uploaded to Leaseora:

  • Use the document permission settings to control who can access them
  • Regularly review document sharing settings
  • Delete documents that are no longer needed

Security Alerts and Notifications

Leaseora provides security alerts to help you stay informed about important account activities.

Configuring Security Notifications

To manage your security notifications:

  1. Go to Account Settings > Notifications
  2. Navigate to the "Security" section
  3. Enable or disable notifications for different security events

We recommend keeping the following notifications enabled:

  • New device logins
  • Password changes
  • Email or phone number changes
  • Two-factor authentication changes

Security Best Practices

Follow these additional best practices to maintain optimal account security:

  • Use a password manager to generate and store strong, unique passwords
  • Keep your devices secure with up-to-date antivirus software and operating systems
  • Be cautious of phishing attempts - Leaseora will never ask for your password via email
  • Log out when using shared or public computers
  • Review third-party app access regularly and revoke access for apps you no longer use
  • Enable automatic updates for your browser and operating system

By following these security guidelines, you can significantly reduce the risk of unauthorized access to your Leaseora account and protect your valuable property management data.
